Services
Healing connections was established in 2005 to provide counselling and psychotherapy for clients presenting with a range of issues.
The name healing connections was chosen, as healing literally means to make whole and may either be physical or psychological in nature.
True healing brings an experience of wholeness in mind, body and spirit.
Feeling disconnected from your core or authentic self leads to suffering.
To bring about healing, this loss of connection needs to be acknowledged and worked through.
People seek counselling and psychotherapy for many different reasons.
You may be experiencing a crisis or there may have been a build-up of stressful events in your life that are making it difficult for you to cope.
Perhaps you recognise that you are engaging in repetitive patterns of behaviour that are sabotaging you.
Having a safe space to explore your concerns in confidence, without feeling judged in any way, gives you an opportunity to stand back and reflect upon the nature of your difficulties.
Psychotherapy is essentially a journey of self-discovery.
The process can help you to heal unresolved issues from the past that may be affecting your capacity to live a meaningful life in the present.
As therapist I act as witness to your story and support you in engaging with the process of change.
As we work together over time, you start to make sense of how all your experiences have shaped your ways of responding to life, which opens up the possibility of developing different ways of relating.
At certain stages in life it can feel as if you've come to the end of a particular road.
You may want to find a new direction, but are unable to see any clear way forward.
You may feel unsure about where to start or perhaps you're fearful of actually taking the first step.
I know what it's like to struggle to turn your life around and move in a completely different direction and I feel passionate about supporting others in engaging with both the inner and outer aspects of the change process.
Life transitions can be incredibly challenging, but also potentially enriching and transformative experiences.
Is the quality of your life being affected by feelings of anxiety or panic attacks?
Are you dwelling upon situations in your life in a way that is not helpful?
As a therapist I frequently encounter people who are experiencing feelings of anxiety that are seriously restricting their lives.
Although not harmful in itself, anxiety can cause unpleasant sensations and can sometimes be extremely debilitating.
Anxiety is a natural human response when you feel under pressure and you are struggling to cope with challenging situations.
