Services
The Mary Clegg Clinic employs a number of therapists.
All are directly supervised and mentored by Mary Clegg thus ensuring stringent control of quality throughout the therapy process.
Many of the therapists have enhanced CRB clearance, essential for working with individuals under 18 or with families.
All our therapists have professional indemnity insurance and the Clinic is covered overall.
They are all subject to the codes of conduct and ethical frameworks of their governing body and we have a robust complains procedure in place to ensure you have a positive experience with us.
Thank you for your interest in having counselling or therapy with the Mary Clegg Clinic.
We would like to give you an idea of the process of therapy and to provide some guidelines and boundaries for us to work together.
Therapy is regarded by some as simply an emotional prop for the inadequate.
Nothing could be further from the truth!
Therapy requires courage and a lot of commitment.
It is good to be an active partner in the therapeutic process and not a passive recipient of therapy.
Being as honest as you can during the sessions is very important.
The FOCUS ON UNITY Relationship Programme for Couples is a dynamic and highly successful programme of relationship therapy - perhaps unique to this country.
We have a track record that comes from years of experience and from the outcome measures (CORE) from hundreds of couples facing acute difficulties in their relationships.
The feedback we get tells us we make life changing differences and bring couples to a place where they can enjoy a relationship with each other at a level they may only have dreamed of.
There is evidence that the divorce rate is falling from its peak in the 1970s.
This is ascribed to the damage experienced by the current generation who have lived through or have seen the effects of relationship breakdown on children.
At the same time, there is pressure on couples whether married or not wanting to buy a home, start a family or progress in a career.
These pressures and others may cause anxiety, even stress and in many cases the drawing of lines of conflict as difficulties become entrenched with time and can rear their heads as sullen silences, withdrawal and even "out of context rages".
Mary's Relationship Skills Course is designed to help couples strengthen their relationship and prepare constructively for any future challenges and conflicts.
It is run over a ten week period and you meet Mary each week for one-hour sessions in Dorset.
The course is informative and fun while avoiding the sometimes testing effects of therapy.
Cost is 850.00.
Please make it clear that you want this course and not therapy when you contact Mary.
I would sum up the work we did with Mary as liberating and in some ways a salvation.
